Transfer Scholarships & Grants

 

Transfer students with more than 16 semester transfer credit hours or 24 transfer quarter hours may be eligible to receive one or more of the following awards.  

  

Transfer Excellence - $5,000 annual scholarship

Awarded to new transfer students with a 3.75 or higher cumulative college GPA.  A 2.50 GPA is required in order to maintain this scholarship.

 

Transfer Promise - $3,000 annual scholarship

Awarded to new transfer students with a 3.5 – 3.74 cumulative college GPA.  A 2.00 GPA is required in order to maintain this scholarship.

 

Transfer Opportunity - $2,000 annual scholarship

Awarded to new transfer students with a 3.0-3.49 cumulative college GPA. A 2.00 GPA is required in order to maintain this scholarship.

 

Phi Theta Kappa - $1,000 annual scholarship

Awarded to new transfer students that are members of Phi Theta Kappa as determined by the MVNU Admissions Office. 

 

ADDITIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS - Students may be able to add these to one of the above listed scholarships/grants:

 

Alumni Endowed Scholarship

Alumni Association is pleased to offer a scholarship to children of MVNU Alumni. The endowment is a representation of the commitment from the MVNU Alumni to their alma mater and the students who are pursuing a Christian higher education degree. The purpose of the scholarship is to continue the legacy of alumni children by giving back what was given to them. 

 

Nazarene Pastor/Missionary Grant

New, unmarried, dependent students of assigned senior pastors (or full-time pastoral staff) or of overseas missionaries assigned under the Church of the Nazarene are eligible to receive this grant. Students must also live on campus. For additional eligibility requirements contact the financial aid office.

 

Pastor/Missionary Grant (Non-Nazarene)

New, unmarried, dependent students of assigned senior pastors (or full-time pastoral staff) or of overseas missionaries assigned by a group other than the Church of the Nazarene are eligible to receive this grant. Students must also live on campus. For additional eligibility requirements contact the financial aid office.

 

Nazarene Challenge Grant

New students that regularly attend a Church of the Nazarene are eligible to receive this grant. Students must have been a regularly attending member of the Church of the Nazarene for at least 1 year prior to receiving this grant. This grant cannot be combined with the Nazarene Pastor/Missionary Grant. Click here for additional information on this program.

 

Christian High School Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to new non-Nazarene students graduating from a Christian high school in Ohio. For additional eligibility requirements contact the financial aid office.

 

Diversity Leadership Scholarship

Students that have diverse backgrounds spiritually, ethnically, culturally, etc. may be eligible to receive this award. Students must also so a history of service to church, school and community as well as have 2.50 or higher GPA. For additional eligibility information and requirements contact the Multicultural Affairs Office.

 

Bible/Quiz Grant

These are awarded at the District NYI Convention to members of a District Teen Varsity Bible Quiz Team. Certificate amounts are divided and awarded for four years. Contact the Financial Aid Office for additional information.

 

Church Partnership Grant

This grant is provided for students associated with and regularly attending a non-Nazarene church.

 

University Fund Scholarship

This award is based on the completion and results of the FAFSA. This grant is based on need as determined by the FAFSA results. Amounts may vary.
