Financial Aid1-886-MVNU-AID (686-8243), Option 2 Financial Aid InformationAttending a University is an investment and we understand how important it is. That's why we're here to help you as much as we can.All students who apply for admission and are accepted to transfer to Mount Vernon Nazarene University are considered for the scholarships and grants available to incoming transfer students. These awards are based on the MVNU Financial Aid Application (which is a portion of the Application for Admission), the GPA attained at the previous college, and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Academic Scholarships are awarded to transfer students based on the student’s GPA attained at the previous college. A Transfer Academic Scholarship of $2,500 will be awarded to students with a 3.50 college GPA, $2,000 will be awarded with a 3.00 college GPA, and $1,000 will be awarded with a 2.00 college GPA. These academic scholarships may be renewed with a qualifying cumulative grade point average. For the purpose of awarding academic scholarships, a transfer student is defined as a student who transfers in 13 or more hours at a previous college. There is information available on our website pertaining to outside scholarships from various organizations. There are also grants, which don't have to be paid back, and loans, which do have to be paid back. In addition, there are employment opportunities both on campus and in the Mount Vernon community. It is highly recommended that you fill out and return all the forms before April 15. After April 15, most scholarships become first-come, first-serve. Check the information on the scholarships for details. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) should be submitted via the internet at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov or mailed to the federal processor (Federal Student Aid Programs, P.O. Box 7001, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864). Be sure to include MVNU's Federal School Code in step six. Our Federal School Code is 007085.
