Students interested in applying for any need-based aid or federal loan program must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA can be completed and submitted to the Department of Education through an on-line application as early as January 1 for the next academic year. Mount Vernon Nazarene University's priority FAFSA filing date is March 15, and you must reapply annually if you intend to utilize need-based aid from year to year.

To complete your FAFSA and other important federal financial aid documents electronically, you and your parent (for dependent students) must have a Personal Identification Number (PIN). Your PIN can be used each year to electronically apply for federal student aid and to access your Federal Student Aid records online. If you receive a PIN, you agree not to share it with anyone. Your PIN serves as your electronic signature and provides access to your personal records, so you should never give your PIN to anyone! Be sure to keep your PIN in a safe place.
