Ann Westbeld, Class of 2007As a senior in high school, my biggest concern was finding a college where I would feel comfortable both academically and socially. Academically, I needed to be challenged and encouraged to analyze and reason independently. I also wanted to attend a school where my faith would be encouraged. Luckily, I found MVNU. Since the class sizes are small at MVNU, I’ve had the opportunity to really get to know my professors. They are always willing to help—both in and out of the classroom. My Organic Chemistry professor, Dr. Lechner, always leaves his office door open. Students are free to come in and ask him questions about homework or lab anytime. Before tests, Dr. Lechner often sets up out-of-class study sessions. The professors at MVNU are always willing to go the extra mile to give a student help and guidance. They don’t just care about us academically; they’re also concerned with our development as individuals. Whether it’s in or out of the classroom, the professors are always ready to answer any question and offer advice or help. The professors’ commitment to helping my fellow students and me sets MVNU apart academically. |
